Monday, March 29, 2021 at 5:20PM We have begun the process of moving from the sea cans into the hall!
I would like to thank today's patient and determined volunteers, Vicki Walker, Ken Redman, Don Sinclair, Shirley Burr, Maureen and Wayne Loiselle, Bev and Dave Green, Pierre, Yuka and Quinn.
I don't know how this island would work without dedicated volunteers.
Celine
Editor's Note: it was so good to see the activity on Saturday – it made me so happy to see the Forbes Hall energy once again! Thanks to all.
Monday, March 29, 2021 at 3:15PM Hi all —
As you may be aware, this past year ThINC has been coordinating with the Thetis Island Community Farm Co-operative and Carolyn Askew to build a new community garden space near the North Cove/Pilkey junction! Initiated by the ThINCpod in summer 2020, The People's Apothecary Garden focusses on growing medicinal plants for public use, and serves as an educational and recreational space for all.
All this is to say, now that the main infrastructure is established, we would like to start hosting small work parties for anyone interested in coming down and spending some time in the garden. The work will be very light; mostly hand weeding, some planting, and eventually deadheading, mulching, etc., later in the season.
Please email Aislinn at aislinn@thetisislandnatureconservancy.org if you would like to be put on the mailing list to receive updates for these work parties going forward!
Looking forward to gardening with you!
