TIVFD: Volunteer Leadership Position Available
Monday, January 4, 2021 at 10:01PM The TIVFD Auxiliary Rest & Rehab Team is looking for a new Team Leader to take on the organizational aspects of the program. Since the inception of the TIVFD Auxiliary programs, Merry Gooding has led the Rest & Rehab Team with skill and dedication but is now stepping back to team member status.
The Rest & Rehab Team support the TIVFD firefighters at extended emergency events by providing nourishments and replacement fluids in a safe zone, by monitoring the fire fighters’ base line health during an extended event, and by assisting with traffic control duties if necessary. Traditionally, the AUX. Rest & Rehab Team has also facilitated the Flu Shot Clinic and Remembrance Day coffee service for participants. Each June the Auxiliary Teams take part in a combined TIVFD/TIVFD Aux Teams wildfire disaster drill. Also in June, all members are invited to the TIVFD Annual Pot Luck BBQ Picnic.
If you have good organizational skills, a phone and a computer for emails, a licensed and insured vehicle, and a willingness to help out your fire department on the very occasional times additional support duties are needed, please contact Fire Chief Jeannine Caldbeck at chief11@telus.net with your expression of interest and for more information.
