Dear Thetis Islanders,

Well I had an outstanding year on Maternity Leave. Becoming a parent is one of the most fascinating gifts to life there is. What a journey it was nurturing my baby Lucien to 1 years old!

This past year I was beyond excited to come back to the MV Kuper, as it is the most memorable job I’ve ever had! I was very fortunate to be surrounded by so many great people!

Due to Various circumstances; I’m truly sad to say I won’t be able to return.. It was a pleasure serving all the wonderful passengers; of the MV Kuper. Thank you! I shall remember the past 4 years with bliss, and look back with pride; at the great opportunity bestowed upon me.

My POA has been transferred to Nanaimo, perhaps I’ll occasionally see a few familiar faces there.

Take care,

Shyann Jack

THETIS ISLAND STEPS UP! (YET AGAIN...)

As you are aware recent vandalism at the Forbes Hall construction site resulted in damage and destruction to the Construction Supervisor Ron’s trailer and contents.

After a call out, Thetis island residents stepped up to help out with clean-up offers, items, and dollars to restock and replace. Ron is very happy, and passes along his thanks to everyone.

On behalf of TICA and the hall expansion committee a sincere thank you to all Thetis Islanders who offered and provided assistance.

Welcome to Joe Lang

With Grant Gordon’s recent retirement, we welcome Joe Lang to Thetis Island as Grant’s replacement. Joe has many years of highways experience and comes direct to us from Mainroad Contracting on Saltspring Island.

A big thank you to Grant for over 30 years of taking such great care of Thetis Island.

Encom Services Inc was the successful bidder for southern Vancouver Island and has now taken over road maintenance for Thetis effective  Oct 1st.

Watch for the Encom truck and give a warm welcome to Joe.
