Boat Ramp Parking

There are a couple of trailers and a boat being stored at the boat ramp parking lot. This area is actually highways road allowance and does not permit overnight parking.

Could the owners please remove ASAP or call me to discuss, and perhaps give a date as to when can have done.

Thanks,

Stu

Saturday Trail Building Work Party

The Fairyslipper Forest Nature Reserve trail building workshop on Oct 19 was a great success with 30 enthusiastic participants. We had a lot of fun and made good progress on the trail.

Our next work party is this Saturday (Nov 2) from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.   New trail builders are welcome to join in even if you weren't able to attend the workshop.

Meet on North Cove Rd by the gate to the Portal (254 North Cove Rd). Bring along sturdy footwear, water, a lunch and tools (rakes, shovels, clippers, loppers, folding handsaws). Stay as long as you can.  It's supposed to be a nice day.  Hope to see you there.

Capernwray Harbour's Running Club

Leanne Jeffrey and Ted Bieber are once again leading a Running Club for students from Capernwray Harbour.  It will happen on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 6:00am.  Our first run will be Tuesday (October 29th). We will do our best to wear proper reflective clothing.

If you happen to have extra reflective items (vests, arm bands, etc.) that you are not using, we would be happy to put them to use.

North Cove Road will be our usual route.

If anyone is interested in further details regarding our running programme, please contact Leanne at 250-533-9329 or ljeffrey@capernwray.ca

Islanders are welcome to join.  We move gradually from walking to running - the Sooke River 10K run on April 5, 2020 is our goal.
