Prowler on Thetis

We regret to report there was  a prowler at 64 Pilkey Point  Rd. last night (Sunday, October 27th)  at  11:50  PM.

There was evidence the intruder entered the ground floor basement possibly assuming no one was home.

This was distressing to the senior resident. Please be alerted to potential burglary or break-ins.

Editor's Note: in addtion, a small boat was heard moving away from the Government Dock between 1am & 2am early Monday morning.

Thanks to Thetis Island Nature House

A big thank you to the Thetis Island Nature House for a fun filled morning out on the ocean looking for diving birds.

The day was stunning with blue skies and sunshine, calm waters,and Marcie's cookies.

Also thank you to Dan White our captain for the morning, and a thank you to Vicky Walker and Ann Eriksson for organising both the boat ride and the afternoon session with ornithologist James Clowater.

I highly recommend, if this event comes around again well worth being on board.

Our dog cowers under our bed shaking for a fair length of time afterwards.

Reminder - DEAR

DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) is happening at Thetis Island Elementary School on Monday October 28th at 9:30 for approximately 30 minutes.

This is a province wide event. Please come and listen to kids read or bring your own book to share with the students. 

Our school superintendent Robyn Grey and our Aboriginal Educational Coordinator, Rosanna Jackson are coming for this special event.
