Thetis Island Community Church

Thetis Island Community Church will be celebrating Communion along with our usual service this Thanksgiving Sunday.  I am so glad to welcome back Capernwray's own Ben Ellershaw, who will be our speaker this week.  His teaching is always from the heart and spot on. The title of the sermon will be " Noah walked with God".  .  Our service starts at 10 and everyone is most welcome to attend. You will be so glad you came."

Thank you & Happy Thanksgiving!

Yoga Classes

Hello all yogis and yoginis!

I will be leaving once again this winter to the fascinating and colourful India and Sri Lanka. The last class I will teach this fall is Thurs Nov 9.

I will return in late March to resume classes.

In the meantime Tatiana will be filling in for me while I am away whatever classes she can.

Until then classes are still the same: Tues and Thurs @ 9:30-10:45 am.

Hope to see you in class!

Dryer Weather

The weather has changed and many people turn from free solar clothes drying to electrical or propane appliances for that chore.  Please check your complete dryer vent system for plugs of lint in kinks and corners. Many home fires start with dryer lint.

THETIS ISLAND LIVESTOCK COOPERATIVE

In partnership with the Portal, Jollity Farm is introducing a new initiative to create a livestock co-op; where members can partake in the experience of raising livestock, while enjoying shares in the end product. All animals will be raised ethically, on-pasture and in harmony with organic farming principles, in a closed-loop system aimed at encouraging healthy soil regeneration. The livestock co-op will expand from pigs, to milking goats, to chickens and more.... If you'd like to learn more or express interest in attending a meeting to discuss, please let us know. Contact Elisabeth or Noah @ jollityFARM 250.416.6736 or info@jollityfarm.ca

Introducing Wonder and Wilma, the mulefoot hogs.

This breed is 1 of 3, critically rare breeds listed with the Livestock Conservancy. https://livestockconservancy.org/index.php/heritage/internal/mulefoot   Wonder & Wilma will be enjoying life at the Portal, rotovating a large pasture as a future site for permaculture gardens & orchards.

If you are visiting the Nature House, we do encourage you to say 'hello' to the pigs. They are social and love to hear a friendly voice.
