Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 5:06PM About 2 weeks ago I lost a fleece red and black blanket with a Canadian Maple leaf on it. Somewhere on Pilkey point road.
Anyone find it?

Whoever owns the orange male tabby, please contact me.
Chasing your cat around my house in the middle of the night is not really on my fun list. The indoor catfight that occurred was also not conducive to sleep.
He is a nice looking cat, well cared for, very vocal and friendly. He appears very lonely.

Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 5:00PM Are you interested in citizen science? Do you have a favourite sand and gravel beach on Thetis?
It's most likely a spawning site for forage fish, small schooling fish that are a critical component of the marine food web, eaten by salmon, marine mammals and marine birds.
Come out to Sunrise Beach on Saturday, March 16 from 9 am to 12 pm and learn how you can join a monitoring program for forage fish spawn, specifically Pacific sand lance and surf smelt.
The session will be led by Haley Tomlin, project coordinator for the Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region Research Institute at VIU.
For more information or to let us know you'd like to attend this fun, hands-on and informative session, contact:
Ann Eriksson, Thetis Island Nature Conservancy at author@anneriksson.ca
or Haley Tomlin, MABRRI Project Coordinator: Haley.Tomlin@viu.ca

We have been researching Vancouver Island but thought we'd put out word on island first.
We thank you for contacting us should you have one you are ready to sell or have any leads.

Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 11:18PM Last week we discussed our first major issue, reconciliation with First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, which has led us to schedule a second gathering on Monday, March 11, 7:30-9:00 p.m. to show the very moving and informative film, Return to the Healing Circle, about the infamous Kuper Island Residential School.
My friend, Joan Morris, a Songhees elder and a former student at KIRS and a patient at the segregated Nanaimo Indian hospital, will join us to share some of her experiences and thoughts about reconciliation.
Please join us if you’re interested.
