Annual Cemetery Clean-up

Tuesday 11th of June, 9 a.m. till noon

Please join us for our annual clean up of the Thetis Island Cemetery. We will be mostly working on eradicating the blackberries, as well as some general tidying up. Please bring gloves, garden shears and any other gardening tools you might think will come in handy. Don't forget your hat and water!

Goat Therapy @ jollityFARM

No, it's not goat yoga but does include fun times with goat kids, and you could stretch at the same time!

We are looking for volunteers who would like to spend some time (regular weekly shifts) visiting our goat kids and helping them to be socialized. As we leave goat kids with their dams for the first 6-8 weeks of life, they tend to be a bit human shy. It makes it easier in the future if the kids come to trust their human friends. 

Goat therapy tasks may include:

• sitting in a deck chair and reading and simply allowing the goats to be curious and visit
• cuddling goat kids who want to curl up on your lap
• brushing goat kids and dams
• collecting brambles for the kids to nibble on

... eventually taking them for small walks when we are ready to leash train

*this opportunity is available to adults, responsible kids over 12 & younger kids accompanied by a parent (or adult relative)

Thetis Island Local Trust Committee Meeting: June 11th - Chemainus

Thank you to the hosts of this forum and all those that have commented.

The next opportunity to address the Local Trust Committee regarding any applications will be at its next public meeting June the 11th 2019 at 9:00 am during the Town Hall section.

Unfortunately due to the Forbes Hall expansion, and that there is no other suitable, legal alternate location available on Thetis, all meetings of the LTC will be held in Chemainus at the Cowichan Neighbourhood House, 9806 Willow Street until the hall expansion is complete.

In the meantime please submit your comments to Telus directly through the public consultation process before June the 7th, so that they are included in the public input.
