Coming Soon ~ Belly Dance Basics!
Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 11:47AM Belly Dance is an activity for all ages – from 6 – 96! It is a wonderful way to get fit, flexible, improve your memory, meet friends, and have fun! This class is designed for beginners and advanced dancers alike. Learn basic belly dance moves and then use what you’ve learned to dance to a Shakira song.
A little about me (your instructor)……
I have been belly dancing for 13 years during which time I took lessons in different styles of belly dance and have performed solo and with various troupes. I am a certified Belly Dance Trainer and have taught for 7 years in Chilliwack, for the International Baccalaureate Society in Langley, in southern California, and of course, Thetis Island! My passion is Gypsy Style – a fusion of folk, Roma, and Raqs Sharqui.
It would be delightful to have some newcomers join my class starting Oct 23 (Monday) and every Thursday evening (7:30-9:30) thereafter at our Community Hall. The cost is $10 drop-in per class – come for 1 or come for all! Wear bling and bring a long, full skirt. Hip coin belts available. Ole!

Thanks from Thetis Island School
Friday, September 29, 2017 at 8:56PM Sept 29th will mark the passing of Harry Armstrong, one year ago. While he is sadly missed by his family, others will remember him as THE QUIET MAN.
I would like to thank all Thetis Islanders for their kindnesses to me this past year - chauffeuring me to & from the ferry and taking me to all functions I wish to attend. More importantly, your help has permitted me to stay in the home we built some 37 years ago. I'm always so relieved when I return home. There's no place like Thetis, but we all know that! To name you all is prohibitive & someone always gets left out. I extend to each & every one of you,my deepest thanks.
Gratefully yours,
Marge

Our local conditions warrant this prohibition. We will continue to monitor and will inform you of a change. Thank you for your patience with your burning desires.
