Book & Bake Sale ~ Saturday, July 30th

Wow, it is only 2 weeks until the annual Book and Bake Sale at Forbes Hall! This sale raises the funds to purchase library materials throughout the year. Volunteers donate baking, set up the sale, sell, and make signs for the sale. Thank you to Steve Frankel and Anaiis. Each year I am so grateful for the help I am given at the sale and for the support the community and Friends of the Library give to me personally and to the continued running of our great little library. Many patrons give me suggestions for purchases which makes my job easier. This year the sale will be followed by an afternoon of games and food. It sounds like a great day for Islanders and friends.

If you would like to donate baking, Gloria the organizer, is happy to receive it the morning of the sale. If you would like to help setting up or taking down the book tables that would be great. Set up Friday July 29 at 1:00. Sale Sat. July 10 - 1. Take down Sat. 1:00

Gypsy Dancers of the Salish Sea Performance

On Monday, July 11 the Gypsy Dancers of the Salish Sea were the opening performers for the "39 Days of July Belly Dance Extravaganza" in Duncan. We danced two numbers, "Simpecao" and our "Russian Tent Dance". It was a little wet but that did not stop our enthusiasm and fun!
If you are in the area, we will be dancing at the Chemainus Hospital on Monday, July 18 at 6:00 pm. We will be joined by Jack and Nikolai, our Gypsy drummer and accordian player.  Hope to see you there
