Soup's On ~ Wednesday, April 8th

Forbes Hall/Community Centre - - $5.00

Service begins at 11:30 AM and goes on until soup is gone or 1:00 PM, whichever happens first! If available, there will be take-out soup for sale. Bring a container!

CVRD at Last Soup's On of the Season ~ April 15th 

Mel Dorey our CVRD director is planning to bring Brian Carruthers, the new CAO, to Thetis April 15th to get in on the last "Soup's on" for the season.  Brian wants to meet some islanders and have a look around as well as enjoy a great community lunch.  As usual, everyone is invited.

The Easter Bunny is making an early visit to Overbury this year!

I have been asked by a colleague with a grave illness to provide Locum veterinary services in Iqaluit, Nunavut from April 13th through July 17th.

Unfortunately and regretfully, I will not be able to provide veterinary attention for islanders between these dates.

from the Library ~ Sale ~ Saturday, April 4th

Set aside this Saturday, April 4 from 10 - 2 for the SPRING BOOK SALE and TICA CAFE. 

Lots of great books for summer reading and good treats from the TICA cafe.  This year we will have a contest to guess the jellybeans in the jar.

This event keeps up the library budget and supports the community hall. 

The last of the TICF donation for the Children's section of the library has been spent and the books are ready to be borrowed.

TIRRA Call to Meeting about Mosquito Mitigation Efforts on Thetis

Date: Saturday, May 30th

Time: 3PM to 5PM (Meeting will end at 5PM)

Location: Our Community Hall

We realize this notice comes to you quite early. There will be reminders of this meeting sent out on eSPOKES later.

Whether you are a full time resident, or a part time resident, you strongly are encouraged to attend this meeting.

As most of you are aware, last spring and summer was an extremely bad season for mosquitoes,

Where on the Island your property is located, may have impacted the degree that you were affected.

This meeting will include a very brief summary of the issues discussed so advance reading is recommended, please click here to view articles and summaries.

You are encouraged to read these, prior to the meeting, as well as bringing your questions, suggestions, ideas to this meeting.

There will be ONLY one Item on the Agenda:  Mosquito Problems on Thetis Island

We will begin the meeting promptly at 3 PM the Meeting will end at 5 PM
