RUSTY, my large orange tabby was found this morning, having made his way over to my old rental place on Mill Rd.
Thank you all who looked for him and provided possible sightings.

The Danger Class Rating dropped on Monday low enough to go to MODERATE but is forecast to be rising to HIGH by Wednesday. The big drop allows us to immediately go to High Hazard Activities on early shift (work until 1 pm then post a two-hour fire watch) without waiting the three days when coming out of the EXTREME rating. This means that starting Tuesday you can mow, mill, chainsaw, etc. in the mornings until the Danger rating rises again. As always, keep water and tools to extinguish sparks at your worksite.
Outdoor fires are still banned by the Province until the end of October. Propane campfire appliances or stoves are not prohibited.

Class is cancelled July 30th. It will resume at 9 am Friday Aug 2nd

Goodies (Baking) can be dropped off at Forbes Hall on Friday after the exercise class, until about 1:30. If this is not possible you can drop it off to me at 20 Foster Point Road or bring it on Saturday morning but Friday is much better all round.
If you need more details you can reach me at 250-210-8886 or forseth@shaw.ca

Thanks so much to community members who are helping get our pal from Sidney to Thetis today. She’s got a lift to Duncan, with a bit of a layover, so I thought I’d see if anyone else is heading home through Duncan today (Tuesday) around 11am or thereabouts. Maybe you could help with the last leg of the journey?
She’ll be dropped near the train station / Garage area. To recap: she’s good company, she’ll have a suitcase and a bag :)
Please give me a ring or text to coordinate. Many thanks !

In case you know of any family or friends looking to stay in the area,
or you need a city home for a short while.
The furnished apartment above the Jollity farm shop & cafe is available
for short term rental in August (and maybe Sept. too).
It's a clean, air conditioned studio apartment with a decent size
kitchen and convenient location just steps away from the ferry.
It is possible to rent by the week or part month as well. Monthly rent
is $1050 plus hydro (includes internet).
Please contact Elisabeth at info@jollityfarm.ca or 250.415.0101
I’m very sorry to say that I saw a small orange and white dead cat that appears to have bit hit by a car just past lot 109 on Pilkey Point Road heading toward the ferry. I was driving in the opposite direction and happen to see it. I tried looking through the listing of Thetis Island pets, but the pictures are slow to load, and I was unable to locate.
Feeling for whomevers cat this is; I would want to know if it were my kitty.

Here we are in the last lazy days of July and we’re thinking about the 2025 follow-up to this year’s beautiful Thetis Island Calendar.
Please browse through photos you’ve taken in the past; take some more through the summer! We will be doing a “Thetis through the Seasons” calendar for 2025 and are excited to see some beautiful images, once again.
You can start sending them as soon as you like, we’ll hold them in a file until early fall when we will sort through them finding the special 12+ to create 2025’s calendar.
Images to be 1 MB or larger, send to info@forbeshall.ca
We're looking forward to seeing what Islanders have been snapping!

Hello!
We at Thetis Island Marina and Pub are looking to add to our team.
We're looking for a Support Person for the pub and a Cleaner for the property in general.
*Support Person - runs food and drinks to tables, clears dirty plates and glassware from tables, and supports the servers and bartenders with restaurant tasks.
This person does not need to be over 19 as they would not be selling or pouring alcohol.
Hours would be Friday and Saturday evenings and all day Sunday.
*Cleaner - would clean the suites when customers have checked out, the marina bathrooms, and the pub. Hours would be flexible and open to change depending on how frequently the suites are being used and your availability.
If you are interested in either position, please email us at thetisislandresorts@gmail.com, call us at 250-246-3464, or stop by the pub and say hi!
Hope to hear from you!
