Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 8:57AM Good day, my name is Sonia Desrochers and am inquiring about potential permanent cottage or house rental.
My husband was recently hired with BC Ferries and will be working one week on/off. Our permanent residence is in Shawnigan Lake.
Cottage must be pet friendly (we have a small dog and I will be visiting only 5 or 6 days a month).

Merry Christmas to All!

Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 10:56AM Looking for that last minute Christmas gift? The perfect stocking stuffer? ThINC is offering Square Metre Certificates for Land Conservation on Thetis Island. Choose to purchase as many square metres as you like at $5 per square metre and receive a beautiful certificate with the new THINC logo and Thetis Island watermark to give to your friends and family. This item was very popular at the Christmas bazaar.
The text on the certificate reads:
A Gift of Nature. Congratulations,________. A contribution has been made in your name to protect ____ square metres of nature on Thetis Island.
All proceeds go to the Lower Burchell Hill Nature Reserve project or other land conservation projects on Thetis.
To purchase your SquaSave & Closere Metre Certificates, phone Ann Eriksson at 250-246-8176 or Suzanne Sarioglu at 250-246-9965. Or email us at ThINC@thetisisland.net . This offer is available year-round.
ThINC wishes everyone a safe, green and happy holiday season.
Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 10:53AM Greetings,
Please find attached traffic results for November, with a synopsis below by FACC Chair Brian Hollingshead. Route 20, Chemainus-Thetis-Penelakut fared no better than the rest of the system with vehicle traffic down 7.03% for the month and off 1.11% on a year to date basis. Passengers were also down 3.17% for the month resulting in a negative year to date 3.29%.
Another reminder that there will be no dangerous cargo runs (in other words passengers are permitted) on Christmas day and on New Years day. This from the BC Ferries website: Starting January 1, 2015, Dangerous Cargo sailings (no passengers) will be offered:
• the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month
• all Thursdays during July and August
If you have any questions, please call.
Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
