Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 8:41AM BC Hydro has just announced a change in the net metering rate structure which will be applied to recently installed solar projects, effective July 1st.
The Forbes Hall solar installation will be affected.
Since learning about the changes, the TICA Board has been analyzing the options offered by BC Hydro and will select the one that provides the most positive outcome.
Updates on solar panel performance and the effect of the rate changes will be reported after the end of the second quarter.

Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 8:41AM There is a clear bag with a few deflated exercise balls in the main storage area at Forbes Hall. The exercise group doesn’t know why they are there or who they belong to.
If anyone knows where they came from or who they may belong to, please contact me by noon today.
Thank you,
Ann Dickie

Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 8:40AM Small standard and wring wrench found on Pilkey Point Road near Jollity Farm. Would be annoying to have that missing from your set.
Message me on (250) 802-2418 if it’s yours.

The local Irishman here.
I’m available for the usual men’s cuts and trims, feel free to text or call me.
I am also available Tuesday to Thursday for any and all yard work, gardening/upkeep, and another hand you may need around your property or in general.
No job too small if it’s a big job for you.

Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 8:32AM What’s new this week? Sandy Hirtz will have cold pressed canola oil. We have Tony Charlie’s book, “Under the Shadow of the Red Brick Building”. And fresh Thetis Island North Cove oysters from Limberis Seafoods. And, of course, all our usual vendors have new things as well.
Every Saturday from 10 until 2, right up to Labour Day. See you there!

A great way to start your day, listening to some tunes as we connect full body movement with breath.
Bring a mat, a cushion for extra padding, and your lovely energy, so looking forward to seeing you.

Friday, June 26, 2026 at 8:18AM During the summer months our emergency call-volume increases and your volunteer firefighters will be driving to the fire hall more often to deploy the emergency vehicles. We use our 4-way flashers on our personal vehicles (you will see a TIVFD fire plate on the front) and stay at the speed limit on the way to the hall, but we would very much appreciate if you pulled over safely and let us pass you. Sometimes seconds count when we are responding to a call-out.
Thank you for helping us help you.
