St. Margaret's Cemetery Clean Up: Thank You

A big thank you to the crowd who showed up on a beautiful Sunday morning to tidy up the cemetery. Many hands make light work.

Much was done: grave markers cleaned, the weeding of borders and pathways, pruning and weed whacking. David Reay community organizer extraordinaire hosted the day which included a picnic lunch and conversation in circle. There was a lot of laughter and camaraderie as we all went about this work on behalf of the cemetery.

Added note-a Black jacket was left at the cemetery in the old section. Contact David Reay.

Hay for Sale

Capernwray harbour still has lots of hay for sale.

Good for your livestock.

Can be used for bedding.

Often used and garden compost as well. Lots of options.

For bulk orders we will do $12 dollars/bale for the first 50. Then we will do ten $10/ bale for every 50 after that.

If you cannot use the hay, please share this with someone you might know who would benefit.

Washer Dryer - Thanks, solved!

Thanks to those who reached out!We had a stackable washer dryer delivered this morning and the service would not move the washer dryer down our steep hill, which meant the old broken washer and working dryer was not removed and taken away. The new one is now sitting in our garage up at the top of our hill. I have a small dolly, but at 230 pounds it’s more than a one person job - 3 would be ideal. I also need to get the old one removed (the dryer works) and taken back up the hill.

We’re in need of a couple of strong hands to assist, preferably two more people to make it easier on all. I’m also, if possible, looking for a bigger dolly and straps.

If you’re willing to help out that would be greatly appreciated, I will generously make it worth your while.

Kids on Roads

Hi,

A few days ago I was driving on Pilkey Point Road just past Telegraph Harbour and saw a young girl ahead of me riding what looked to be a kind of Vespa. She had her helmet on and was keeping to a safe speed.

But then she veered over into the oncoming lane and continued for a minute, going over a few hills and around several blind corners.

Luckily no cars came along, and she eventually went back into her own lane, but I was concerned for her.

Maybe parents could remind their kids about safety on the road?
