Friend Delivery Part 2: Duncan to Thetis / Chemainus Today?

Thanks so much to community members who are helping get our pal from Sidney to Thetis today. She’s got a lift to Duncan, with a bit of a layover, so I thought I’d see if anyone else is heading home through Duncan today (Tuesday) around 11am or thereabouts. Maybe you could help with the last leg of the journey?

She’ll be dropped near the train station / Garage area. To recap: she’s good company, she’ll have a suitcase and a bag :)

Please give me a ring or text to coordinate. Many thanks !

Cat hit by Car

I’m very sorry to say that I saw a small orange and white dead cat that appears to have bit hit by a car just past lot 109 on Pilkey Point Road heading toward the ferry. I was driving in the opposite direction and happen to see it. I tried looking through the listing of Thetis Island pets, but the pictures are slow to load, and I was unable to locate.

Feeling for whomevers cat this is; I would want to know if it were my kitty.

2025 Calendar

Here we are in the last lazy days of July and we’re thinking about the 2025 follow-up to this year’s beautiful Thetis Island Calendar.

Please browse through photos you’ve taken in the past; take some more through the summer! We will be doing a “Thetis through the Seasons” calendar for 2025 and are excited to see some beautiful images, once again.

You can start sending them as soon as you like, we’ll hold them in a file until early fall when we will sort through them finding the special 12+ to create 2025’s calendar.

Images to be 1 MB or larger, send to
info@forbeshall.ca

We're looking forward to seeing what Islanders have been snapping!

Thetis Island Pub is Hiring!

Hello!

We at Thetis Island Marina and Pub are looking to add to our team.

We're looking for a Support Person for the pub and a Cleaner for the property in general.

*Support Person - runs food and drinks to tables, clears dirty plates and glassware from tables, and supports the servers and bartenders with restaurant tasks.

This person does not need to be over 19 as they would not be selling or pouring alcohol.

Hours would be Friday and Saturday evenings and all day Sunday.

*Cleaner - would clean the suites when customers have checked out, the marina bathrooms, and the pub. Hours would be flexible and open to change depending on how frequently the suites are being used and your availability.

If you are interested in either position, please email us at
thetisislandresorts@gmail.com, call us at 250-246-3464, or stop by the pub and say hi!

Hope to hear from you!

It would be great to see if we can get a turnout like our latest ceremony at the Salt Marsh!!!

To join in the march, please catch the 0755h ferry on Monday, August 5th.

Survivors share stories about the sad and short lives of these children who missed out on a life like that we have taken for granted. The People’s Apothecary Garden - Plant of the Week #18 - Rosemary

A humble herb in which most people are familiar with for its culinary uses, but few know of its medicinal properties. Rosemary is a rich source of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds and is used to boost the immune system, improve circulation, and aid in digestion - among other benefits! Fun fact - the first mention of rosemary is found on cuneiform stone tablets as early as 5000 BCE!
