LPN Burnet (Burnie) Nicholson will be taking clients for a two-day clinic on July 21st and 22nd at Forbes Hall.

Basic Foot Care includes:

· Lower Legs and feet nursing assessment· Toenail cutting and reduction.· Callous/Corn reduction and education/interventions to decrease or eliminate recurrence within LPN scope of practice.· Hang nail /ingrown nail mitigation.· Foot massage and moisturizing of skin· Diabetic foot assessment and basic care· Basic wound care/dressing changes/pressure point mitigation· Referrals to complex foot care health professionals

Fee per client: $75 with appointments taking 1 hour generally.

Minimum clients for 2-day clinic to proceed: 10

Maximum clients for the 2-day clinic: 16

Asphalt Trucking Monday, June 26th – Ferry Travel Affected

To resurface the Forbes Hall Tennis Court, Island Paving will be travelling Monday, June 26^th bringing equipment over on the 7:00 am and 8:35 am sailings. Tandem trucks will be travelling one truck per sailing back and forth throughout the day. A final trip with the equipment will depart from Thetis later in the day.

Mosquitos and Jellyfish - oh my!!!

We seem to be overwhelmed this year with mosquitos. I know about 7-8 years ago we’d had some meetings about mosquitos. I know we did something about a blocked culvert, went and checked all out our ponds/ tarps /gutters of water things breeding them. Should we try again this year? Should we have a meeting? 

My Second- oh my is there is a rash of jelly fish. At least in Preedy Harbour. Anyone knows which type they are and how stingy they might be. Very very early for them. Guess it’s global warming doing it. I know we have local experts to advise us? any advice. ? Are they everywhere? Or just on the west side ?

Does anyone have any need for copious amounts of boxes? I just moved (again) and I'd love to offload these boxes to some deserving individual(s). Perhaps you're a box collector or you'd like to use them in your garden? Perhaps those old things you're tired of looking at need to get boxed up and stored away? I'm your gal! Shout Out to the TIVFD

Myself and Chris, Mark and Zola truly appreciate the effort to help Mark get through his Medical issue. Mark is a good friend and I was very impressed with how things were handled. From the time of the 911 call to Mark being underway in the emergency boat (plumbed and drummed with 2 EMT's) was 25 to 30 minutes. Want to try and do that in Vancouver?

We are very fortunate to have this well trained crew support us Thetis Islanders.

ThINC - looking for hanging folders

Hello, anyone have extra 'letter-size' hanging folders (for a filing cabinet) that they are not using and would be willing to donate to the Nature House? We have a bunch of 'legal' size folders, but they are much too big for our cabinets!
