Vitals Monitoring Clinic – Wednesday, February 8th

Every second Wednesday, a Vitals Monitoring Clinic is held at Forbes Hall in the Care Station, coinciding with Soup’s On. 

Stop by the Care Station this Wednesday between 11 am and 1 pm to have your vital signs checked or to speak with community paramedic, Vinh Pham.

Earthquake in Turkey

Many thanks to the many members of the Thetis Island community who have reached out to ask if family and friends of the Sarioglus are safe. This quake happened in the south-western part of Turkey, and we are fortunate not to have any direct connections in the area. But we have friends who do, and we are waiting to hear news of their situations.  

This tragedy is compounded by the huge number of Syrian refugees who have already suffered greatly and  are in camps in this area. Please consider giving support through organizations like the UNHCR Canada ( United Nations High Commission on  Refugees) give.unhcr.ca and Doctors Without Borders ( MSF) action.msf.ca
