Hi. Does anyone on Thetis have Starlink internet. Would like your opinion on the service.

Due to weather and travel advisories, we are choosing to stay home and stay safe! We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
While we'd like to do a 'catch-up' trip on Monday, many of our farm and food partners have scheduled closures from the 23 to 28th, so we may just have to resume our regular schedule on Thursday, 29th. Stay tuned and we shall update you as we hear more.
The shop won't be open on Saturday as our driveway is pretty treacherous, but we are happy to put orders in the Kiosk for pick up. You can always park down below and trudge on up.
We do have a couple spare bottles of milk and cream, eggs, arugula, mizuna, garlic, frozen roosters, ice cream, coffee and lots of yummy preserves.
We'll update our online order form by noon today so you can use that to order, or just text/call or email with requests.
Thanks everyone for understanding! We appreciate you all and wish everyone a safe, cozy and festive holiday.

We are open today from 11:00 AM on. A little mail got through today to Chemainus. I will go over and get it and should be back by 1:30 PM. We should have that mail sorted by 3:00 PM. However, since both of us are here we will be open continuously from 11:00 AM. I will come in Saturday until 3:00 PM to distribute what parcels are left.
Everything and I mean everything in Canada Post is shut down across Canada. This storm has apparently hit the whole country.
Bundle up and watch your step on the stairs. Use the handrail.

We are very pleased to announce that a Nurse Practitioner (NP) has been hired and will be starting on Thetis in late February 2023. More detailed information will follow, but for now here are two parts of that care we are able to share with the Thetis Community.
Any Thetis Islander who has registered for a Primary Care Provider and has not yet found or been assigned to a Doctor or NP, will be attached to the new NP as their Primary Care Provider and will be contacted. This group will be the first Thetis Islanders to have on-island primary care services.
For those who do not have a family doctor or NP, here is the link for registration: https://www.healthlinkbc.ca/health-connect-registry#getdoctorornp
The Nurse Practitioner will be available to their Thetis Island patients two days a week. To start, one of those days will be in-office appointments at the Forbes Hall Care Station, with the second day as Virtual Care. Note: For the in-office day, there will also be limited same-day appointments (booked via phone - number to come later) for patients with emergent or urgent care needs, whether the NP is their Primary Care Provider or not.
This service is the result of both the commitment to include the Care Station in the design of the recent Forbes Hall Expansion and a dedicated group of volunteers working on this for over a year and a half.
We are thrilled to share this with you all and will continue to update the community as we finalize this long-awaited Medical Service for Thetis Island.

The Post office will be open Friday Dec 23. We got some mail in on Thursday but not a huge amount. The winter storms are disrupting the mail flow to Victoria. I am hoping we will get another delivery Friday. At present we should have the current crop of parcels sorted by noon tomorrow. If we get delivery tomorrow, we will keep the post office open on Saturday until early afternoon maybe all day depending on volume.
We will keep you posted (pun intended)
PO pick up hours 1100 to 5:00 PM

If anyone is out with a plow to do people's driveways, could you give us a call at 250-701-9336? We can't cope with the ridge of ice and snow left by the road clearance, and could use a cleared area at the top of the driveway as well.
Whenever weather conditions permit.
Thanks!

The safety of our passengers and crew is of primary importance to us. We apologize for any inconvenience as a result of these cancellations.
For the most up-to-date sailing and departure information, follow @BCFerrieson Twitter, or call us toll free at 1-888-223-3779.
Unfortunately no mail has arrived in Chemainus from Victoria for 2 days. Not sure if any today.
PO will be closed today Thursday. If mail comes through today we will be open Friday and Saturday morning and Zola and Fred will work through all of the pile to have it available by Friday After 1500 (3 pm).
It is out of our hands. Apparently the weather messed up the mail getting to Victoria.
