Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 7:49AM **Again**
**Branches, Branches, Branches**
Wondering what to do with that pile of branches? Frustrated with aligning your schedule and the venting index? Looking for a little midday Work Out instead of a Smoke Out!
Maybe Woody, the trailer mounted Woodchipper is your Answer. He's ready and available to serve Thetis Island. Woody is a 49Hp industrial woodchipper, hungry for wood up to 12" diameter.
In approximately an hour, two feeders & Woody can handily convert an accessible, neatly stacked VW Bug sized branch pile into ground cover material. The more branch feeders you recruit to feed Woody the faster he'll chip up your branch pile(s). He is definitely "not" a polite diner, he enjoys filling his mouth with as many branches as his feeders can shovel in. No need to worry about feeding him too much, he will just pause his feed control give a little burp and chew on! See if you can make Woody burp!
Woody is too heavy to travel offroad into wet areas. The closer your branch piles are to access the less time Woody wastes waiting to be fed. Tangled piles add time to pull apart, Neat tidy piles feed Woody faster.
For a Chipping good Time without the Frustration of When to Let the Smoke Out,
First hour @ $150
Following time @ $125/hr

Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 8:06AM Because we are launching into the new project of producing the digital version of the Quarterly as well as the print one, we are asking that people aim for MAY 1st to send in their stories, notices, reports, ads, etc., or at least let us know that it's coming. Since the digital version will be in colour, would those who have ads in the Q please send us their originals (or new ones) in colour? All links for email and websites will also be clickable unless you tell us otherwise.
Also, we have sent out duplicate invoices for last year's ads to a lot of people who didn't respond to the first mailing. If you didn't get an invoice, it may be landing in your spam folder? Anyway, please let me know, because if the payment hasn't come in, the ads won't go in. And we really appreciate the ads!

Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 8:00AM The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority invites complaints from citizens disturbed by anchorage noises and lights. The 'concern' is passed on to the ship master, often followed by positive action.
Several people voiced concerns yesterday over 'maintenance' hammering from a parked ocean-going vessel that had swung within 800 metres of Thetis' eastern shore.
Ship names, identified by sight or using an on-line 'vesselfinder' app, are required in contacting the port authority at: https://www.portvancouver.com/southern-b-c-anchorage-noise-and-light-concerns/
