Problems In Paradise - Our Post Office

As concerned Thetis Islanders, we three note that we may be losing both our post office workers if Johnny & Kevin are not able to find lodgings on Thetis Island.  Is there really no one on Thetis that has a place for rent?

The alternative may be that we wind up with a Post Box setup below the Chemainus Post Office?  It has happened before.  How inconvenient would that be?

Community Welcome Program

TIRRA has been producing welcome packages for newcomers for the last 3 years. The package contains brochures and local information to help newcomers transition to island living. Included materials such as current phone book, gift certificates from Thetis proprietors, samples of the Quarterly, Emergency preparedness, Community Plan, Sustainability Guide and various Islands Trust brochures.

The original team collaborated on a welcome brochure which is one of the locally created components: view on the Community webpage under TIRRA:
https://www.thetisisland.net/community2006.htm
During the initial creative process, we found it very difficult to fit all appropriate information on the brochure. So obviously if we add something, we need to remove something. A difficult balance. If you are a/the primary contact for a local group or association, please check the brochure for accuracy/completeness as we will be ordering a new supply shortly.

NOTE: If there are errors or omissions please submit your amendments/additions/deletions by March 31st to tirra@thetisisland.net

Also if your group has brochures or information you think would be good stand-alone materials for inclusion in the Welcome Packages, let us know.

Are you a newcomer? The only way we know if there are newcomers is word-of-mouth or self-identification. So if you are a newcomer and you would like a member of our Welcome Committee to reach out, please advise your contact info to
tirra@thetisisland.net

A big thank you to Greg Gall and Bev Greene who are volunteer ambassadors for the Welcome Committee!

Thank you in advance
