ImmunizeBC has been very apologetic about all the difficulties people have had, booking time slots for the clinic on January 11th. They are adding personnel so there will now be 8 coming over to do the clinic - 6 immunizers and 2 administrators. This gives us a total of 387 possible appointments over the following time periods: 10am to 12 noon, 1pm to 3:30pm, and 4pm to 5:15pm, the last appointment being at 5:15.
We still have had no word about whether walk-ins will be allowed, so your best bet is to book, and keep letting us know when you have problems, so we can let them know higher up the chain. Be sure to use the V0R2Y0 postal code, and as always, specify that this is an all ages, whole community clinic, as it's a separate category with different criteria.
And of course, the criteria keep changing as VIHA is able to accommodate more.
These new slots may not be built into the system before Thursday, so be patient but keep trying, as we don't think all of the earlier ones are completely filled yet. 1-833-838-2323 or online if you have been sent a link.

It seems that we will be wearing masking for some time yet! I've made some more medium and large masks for sale. Two layers of woven cotton sandwich a layer of polypropylene filter material. The masks are washable with adjustable knit cotton ear loops. $15.00 each.

I am looking for a wood framed, double paned window 3' x 5' or 3' x 6' with at least one section that opens. Anyone have an extra looking for a use?
I have 2 small vacuums,
-one is a Ridgid shop-vac very tiny but powerful. $25
-one is a Bissell- free
Both work fine and neither requires a bag. The Bissell is fairly light duty- not efficient if you have three dogs in the house!
Also available- one incubator with egg turner- $150

A big thanks to Tim French for all his work on the Hall’s data package.

The Forbes Hall Food Services will be holding off on the Soup's On lunches until Feb.
The new BC protocols and the Omicron variant means taking extra precautions at this time. The COVID-19 clinic on Jan 11 gives us all a booster shot or for some a first or second shot. It takes 2 weeks for it to be effective which takes us to Jan 25. So a new start in Feb seems to be the wisest decision.
We will again re-look at the start in Feb later this month.
Happy New Year to all.

Anyone willing to lend me a hewing/broad axe? I would like to have a go at making a rough hewn beam and decide if it’s worth purchasing my own axe.

I’m getting a pallet of bricks delivered to Thetis on Tuesday early afternoon. If anyone is interested in a pallet he said he will bring another to deliver while he’s here in case someone does.
Text or call Jay @ (250) 741-7872 if you would like a pallet.
There are newly revised BC Public Health Office Orders that need to be complied with at Forbes Hall, see below.
All activity leaders have been asked to comply with these orders, and to speak with their volunteers and attendees.
I know that any restrictions can frustrating as well as limiting but do ask for your compliance during this time.
Thanks

Worship Services
If all participants are vaccinated as determined by the worship service leader, there are no capacity restrictions on worship services and choirs.
If participants are not all vaccinated, worship services and choirs are limited to 50% seated capacity. 50% of the Assembly Hall + MPR = 95 people.
Please note that masks are now required but can be temporarily removed for ceremonial eating and drinking, and by officiants, readers or for singing a solo where physical distancing is observed.
*****
Exercise / Yoga / Tai Chi
These activities are cancelled until the restrictions loosen. Thanks for your compliance.
*****
Library
Masks are required. No proof of vaccination/boosters required.
Masks can be off while actively eating / drinking. Sitting visiting at the table while not eating or drinking does not allow for masks to be off.
*****
Workshops / Seminars / Meetings / Activities / General Use
All attendees must wear masks. No provision has been made for eating and/or drinking, however, we will assume that while ACTIVELY drinking/eating, the mask can temporarily be removed.
Those doing the work of TICA are not required to wear masks unless the hall is open to the public for scheduled community activities.
*****
Food Service (Soup’s On etc.)
All diners must be seated, no exchanging of tables, and masks must be worn if standing, or if seated and no longer eating and/or drinking.

Note: all community activities run by volunteers may be stricter than the PHO mandates and restrictions. Each activity or service provided by volunteers will make the decision whether to proceed with their activity, provided they do not relax mandates or restrictions.
