A Resolution at Last?

The Clinical Project Director - Pandemic Planning for Island Health emailed us at 9 pm Thursday night, apologizing for the issues with booking for the Whole Community Clinic on January 11th here on Thetis.  She says those issues have been fixed and people should now be able to book a time for their shot. 

The Provincial Call Centre has been advised.  The Call Centre is open from 7 am to 7 pm.  This is an All Ages Clinic.  If you have an appointment at another location and wish to change it to Thetis, call in to arrange a spot.  You must be registered to get an appointment, but they can do that when you call, if you aren't registered already.  Call  1-833-838-2323.
 
Once again, if you have any problems, let us know.  But we really hope this time they've fixed it.

The Milk Run - Delayed!

Due to dangerous road conditions our Cobble Hill farm friends have advised us to postpone milk pickup to Monday. 

All home grocery delivery and on-farm pickup of dairy, veggies, eggs and baking is subsequently delayed to Monday afternoon. 

Unless a substantial melt happens, our driveway is too slippery to traverse until temperatures rise a bit over the weekend and melt some slippery ice patches. 

Home delivery will happen on Monday afternoon between approximately 2-4. If your driveway is still very snowy or icy we’ll be in touch to make arrangements for safe delivery. We will aim to have our driveway clear for you to come up and collect milk, eggs and veggies starting Monday afternoon and any day following, that is convenient for you.

We are sorry for the inconvenience but in the interest of safety first, we feel this is the best decision.

Please Note re Booking for the January 11th COVID Clinic...

We were assured yesterday afternoon that the clinic was once again in the system and everyone could apply. 

Please be sure to say that this is a whole community clinic and so no age limits apply.  We should be in the same category as all the other whole community clinics in BC.  If you want a list of them, let us know.

Once again:  VIHA is sending two additional immunizers (for a total of 5) to the community clinic here on January 11th, which has opened up 108 more slots, which we have been assured are available for booking now. If you have tried and failed to get through in the past, we are told that you should have no problems now.  If you have made a booking elsewhere in the meantime but want to change it to here, you should be able to do that. 

Please go online or call 1-833-838-2323 as soon as possible, and if you have any problems with it, please let us know. 

Jeannine will call them again this morning to let them know of the numbers who haven't been able to get through, and find out what the glitch is.

Some Winter Tips

The forecast is for more snow, warming, cold again, etc. 

If you haven’t done so already, knock the snow off your plastic shelters before the snow gets too heavy and wet.  Knock any icicles off your gutters so the weight doesn’t bring them down. 

Trees and branches heavy with wet snow can crack off, so be careful where you park or when out in the woods. 

Be safe, and remember summer is coming.

Free Cross-Country Skis

Old school Norwegian Skis, poles and boots free for the taking. You'll find them stuck in the snow at the top of the driveway of #15 Foster Point Road.  Boots are in a plastic bag, women's size 9-10, men's 12-13. The men's boots need repair, sole is delaminated.
