Before we start looking off island, wondering if anyone has a chest freezer they'd like to sell?
Doesn't need to be beautiful, but does need to work. It will be keeping lots of yummy sausages frozen to share out over coming months!

News from the Marina!

We are excited to announce two new weekly events at the Marina restaurant. 
Themed dinner and movie nights every Saturday
November 6 we will be playing The Italian Job- the original version and the dinner will be Italian themed! 

Spaghetti and meatballs, Vegan spaghetti and meatballs, eggplant parmesan and other Italian specialties

We have a projector and screen set up and our regular menu will also be available. Movie free seating is still available for those who wish to dine as usual. 

Free dessert if you come in movie themed costume! 

Sunday Brunch Buffet
Starting November 7, we will offer  brunch every Sunday only from 10-4. 

Chef Todd and Joey are preparing a huge range of salads and roast meats as well as soups, desserts and traditional breakfast items. 
$25 with coffee or juice. Cocktail included for $30.

Lard Wanted

Ordering a full pig or side of pork from Jollity Farm this year?  Not wanting the lard that comes with your pork?  In my quest for using all things Thetis in my soaps, when possible, I will trade for handmade soap or purchase the lard from your order.

Special Notice: Fibreglass Reinforced Panelling Taken from Forbes Hall Pavilion

Please… whoever removed FRP (white textured fibreglass reinforced panel) paneling from the pavilion at the Community Center please return it.  We are not finished with these offcuts.  

In general, please check with a TICA Board member before removing anything from the property.

More Vaccination Clinic Info

The Flu Shot Clinic will be on November 9 from 10 am to 2 pm.  

Flu shots are for anyone over 6 months of age.

Flu mist nasal spray for children may be available for children…they get their supply in the second week of November but it may not be in time for our clinic.

This is a drop-in clinic for Flu since there is no charting involved.   

Covid vaccinations:  you must register with Immunize BC prior to the clinic. Here is the link: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/vaccine/register

You can register on-line or by phone.  Be sure to tell them it’s for the Thetis Island Clinic.  They will be booking spots for Covid jabs in half-hour increments.

You can get your Flu shot at the same time as your Covid vaccination.

Booster (3rd) covid vaccinations.  You must already have your letter stating you are eligible.  Register at Immunize BC and bring your letter with you.  This process takes a bit longer since the nurses have to chart your record.   

Masks will be required in Forbes hall unless you are enjoying the coffee and snacks supplied by the TIVFD Auxiliary while you wait out your 15 minute post-vaccination procedure.  Social distancing measures will be in place.  Having your care card handy can speed things up a bit at the beginning.

There is good scientific data on why the Venting Index regulations are in place for Thetis Island, which is in the High Sensitivity Zone.
