Looking for Mushrooms & Marine Items

First time posting. Looking for some items and info. 

I've been foraging for medicinal  mushrooms recently... not giving up yet... but in case I don’t find those I'm searching...lion’s mane particularly...  I'm interested in all varieties found here... maybe some one knows where I can get a small local sample for a cultivation project. I've been growing these many years and wild harvesting for longer yet.

Also seeking some marine items... 6 ft oars... with or without locks... small outboard... gas or electric... and a battery for testing ... and archery equipment arrows, etc.

I prefer trades or freecycling neglected and forgotten potential. Cash as needed.  I can pick-up... maybe lend a hand.  The absence of the free store at the dump is notable since last I was here.  

Things have changed and still remain much the same in this moss-covered wonderland. Strong  dock, sharp saw, and a waterline that doesn't freeze.

Thank You to Thetis Island Volunteer Fire Department

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the many first responders who came to our aid when Margot had a fall at the cabin on August 16.   

We were very fortunate to have neighbours close by that called 911 and we quickly had first responders on scene.  It was determined that Margot likely had a broken hip.  All the arrangements were quickly made to coordinate the water taxi with an awaiting ambulance in Chemainus that took us to the hospital in Duncan.  

It gives us and our family great peace of mind knowing that this amazing service is available on Thetis Island. 

Thank you kindly to the many, many volunteers that work to keep this service running so well. Much appreciated.

Fairyslipper Trail Cleared

The north section of the Fairyslipper loop trail has been cleared of downed trees and is open for hikers thanks to the generous and quick work of Chris Call. Chris volunteers his time, expertise and equipment to clear fallen trees from the Nature Reserve trail whenever needed.

Rock Tumbler Wanted

Well tis the season for me to find a creative gift that will keep my daughter Athenia occupied. Does anyone have a rock tumbler laying around they would like to sell. I prefer to purchase items, including  Christmas gifts second hand, when possible.  It doesn't need to be pretty, just in working order.
