Monday Moves Us to Moderate Fire Hazard

If all goes well over the weekend (I.e. a good dump of rain) we will be moving to MODERATE on Monday morning, September 20th.  This will mean no restrictions on activities and a fire watch will not be required when the activity ceases.  Please keep up your caution.  Autumn leaf fall is adding to our forest surface fuels and dry quickly in winds.

Moderate: Forest fuels are drying and there is an increased risk of surface fires starting. Carry out any forest activities with caution. 

NO OUTDOOR FIRES INCLUDING CAMPFIRES AT THIS TIME.

Reminder - Visiting Capernwray Property

As we begin our next year of Bible School and welcome about 100 students this weekend, we wanted to remind Thetis Islanders that you are welcome to visit our property, however for the safety of our students, guests, and community we ask that you please abide by the below conditions:

- You or your visiting family and friends are welcome, however we continue to be closed to the general public (i.e., walk-ons from the ferry line up)

- Please CHECK IN AT OUR MAIN OFFICE each time you come onto the property

- Please SIGN OUR ONLINE WAIVER in advance of your arrival (if you just signed this waiver this summer, please kindly submit it once again for the following year; it will be good until the end of August 2022):

The Province has just lifted fire restrictions on provincial lands in the region, but Thetis Island and other neighbouring municipalities continue to keep a complete fire ban in place.
