The Sunday library will be open on Sunday from 1 to 4pm. Tea and cookies available. 

Masks and/or vaccinations appreciated but not essential.

Fire Permits

Yard Waste piles and incinerator fire permits will not be available after May 31st. No yard waste or incinerator permits will be given out for June.

Evening campfire permits will continue to be available for June.

Quarterly on Thetis Pick Up Available this Time to Help Save Postage

If you normally have your Quarterly mailed to you but happen to be here this weekend or next week it would save on postage if you picked up your copy.  The Quarterly is a bigger issue this time and will cost TICA extra to mail off island.

Warmer Weather Predicted: Know Your Mushrooms

Environment Canada has just sent out information that we are heading into a ridge of high-pressure starting May 31-June 1 that will bring temperatures 2 to 5 degrees above normal.  This is not a high heat event but due to the recent cool, unsettled, and wet weather, this coming heat may produce a lot of mushrooms popping up, several species of which are toxic to humans, cats, and dogs.  Please know your mushrooms and don’t let your pets eat mushrooms when out on walks.  

The Amanita Mushrooms are especially toxic, and a couple of the Amanita species have been found on Thetis.

Saturday Market Extended Hours

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday offering extended hours this week from 10 am to 3 pm.   An extra hour to enjoy some homemade baking and coffee and catch up with your neighbours.
