Art & Display Group

In recognition of the many artists on Thetis Island, TICA has created an Art and Display Group tasked with providing opportunities for artists to display their work in the new Forbes Hall Community Centre. A process for submissions and display is being developed and should be in place by the fall.

If you are interested in submitting your artwork for consideration, or are interested in joining this group, please contact art@forbeshall.ca

Important notice about the COVID Clinic June 16 & 17

If you have tried to book a time slot at the Thetis community COVID clinic, and been told that there were no more spaces, or been refused for any other reason, or if you were intending to book and hadn't got around to it yet, PLEASE LET US KNOW RIGHT AWAY. Or if you know of someone in that situation who might not see this notice, let us know.

We need to know today, how many there are in this situation, to convince VIHA to open it up to include everyone they said they would.  Please email us at

Thank You's and Still Home Shopping...

We would like to send a great big 'thank you' out to the Thetis Island community for helping create a wonderful experience for our two eldest children who were involved in THiNC's Re-Gen program this spring.  Kasian and Kaia loved the community and the warm welcome they received, and they really appreciated those that shared their time, ideas, and expertise.  We are thrilled to have met so many amazing humans on Thetis and look forward to volunteering and collaborating more!

Because of the connection, and investment in community they felt from the people they met and collaborated with, and their explorations of the island, they, along with the rest of us, are enthusiastically continuing our search for a home on Thetis.  We own a lovely house in Chemainus with many gardens and on a friendly and quiet street.  We are hoping to either sell and then buy something on Thetis or find someone who is looking to downsize and sell/trade in a mutually beneficial way.  We are looking for anything bigger than a city lot, with gardens or potential for food growing, that we can bike to the ferry from (so anything much past Clam Bay Rd along Pilkey, may be too hilly to ride).  If you, or anyone you know, is contemplating a change, please don't hesitate to contact us, we would love to chat, and any thoughts and ideas are welcome.

Have a fantastic day!

The Russell Family :)

Summer Market

If you are like us there is nothing better than popping into a bakery and making a selection of goodies to take home and enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea.

This year at the summer market we have some amazing bakers with a wide variety of baked goods. You can find fruit pies, cinnamon buns, blueberry white chocolate scones, chocolate chunk cookies and Pan De Coco! This week we have an addition of Pink Champagne Cake and Vietnamese Iced Coffee Cupcakes.

If you would rather have savory instead of sweet we have cornbread, spring rolls and curry puffs.

On the Keto diet? We have Keto peanut butter cookies as well as some baking that takes you back to your childhood. Peanut Butter Cookies, Lemon Squares, Butter Tarts and Fudge.

Stop by this Saturday June 12th 10-2 and check out the baking.

PS. Bring a big bag!!

Learn More about Dumpling Drop & the Healing Power of Food!

I was asked today if this article on cbc.ca was about the makers of the new dumplings headed to Thetis Island this week... the answer is yes. It's a great story about Tarn and Toom titled: My mom's memory is failing. But rolling dumplings is something she can do intuitively.

Transport of Play Equipment Needed

I have a large piece of play equipment that needs to go to Crofton Elementary School on Thursday or Friday of this week. You would need an SUV or a truck to transport it.

If you are able to do this for Thetis Island Elementary School, please let me us know and we can arrange a time for pick it up at the school.

Please call Genny Redman @250-210-3087.
