Ping pong classes for young children (as young as 4 years old) and ping pong classes for competitive adults are provided in the hall from 2:45 PM (children) and 4 PM (adults) today, Tuesday. 

All necessary equipment to play is available.

TIRRA Solid Waste Independent Site Review

At the TIRRA AGM April 28th, Paul Duncan led us through his review process and the outcomes for the Thetis Island Solid Waste site.

Paul agreed to take on this review at the June 2021 AGM, and he spent well over 200 hours in conversations and research regarding Solid Waste management. 

This independent review was undertaken with the intent to understand current state (pre-covid) versus future state: considering risks, sustainability, and community engagement.

Optimization of our future solid waste management requires both Community and TIRRA commitment to succeed. 

We require site employees and volunteers, but also individuals willing to operationalize the many components that will reduce risk and increase sustainability in a financially and environmentally responsible way.  

The members who attended the AGM approved to prioritize Scenario 1 with a desire to engage in efforts to get to Scenario 2 as a future state.

Thetis Island Community Association Initiates Pledge Program to get Back into the Black

Over the past two months, TICA held membership meetings and provided the community with information about plans to repay the Local Lenders whose loans enabled the completion of the Forbes Hall Community Centre expansion project. Back into the Black is a pledge-based program designed to provide TICA with the assurance of a predictable income to repay as much of the debt as possible when the loans mature in 2024...
