Monday, November 16, 2020 at 7:52PM I found an adjustable wrench on Pilkey Point Road near the solid waste yard on Saturday morning. It probably fell out of someone's truck. If it's yours, you can pick it up from Chez Thornburg/Vitzthum (lot 129):
it's on the rock wall opposite the front door of our house.

Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 5:31PM A good friend of mine in Maple Bay is selling his Leaf. He is not Internet friendly so has not advertised it. I have offered to help himsell it.
It's Black in colour, has winter tires and a level two charger that plugs into a dryer outlet. It has 34,000 km on it with a battery in excellent condition.
Call me for more information and I can connect you with my friend Al.

Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 5:30PM To help you accomplish this, Cowichan Valley Emergency Management published an Emergency Preparedness Workbook available online at
https://www.cvrd.ca/DocumentCenter/View/84184/MIECM-Emergency-Preparedness-Workbook---2017?bidId=
The " 26 Weeks " segment is a mere two pages of the workbook that is full of valuable information and worth reading all the way through. Copies are also available from your LERN captain.
Here are two more tasks.
Week 2 : Identify a family reunion place away from your home but close to where you regularly are, whether at work, school, or home. This may be outside somewhere on your property in the event of a house fire or it may be near school or work in the case of other emergency circumstances. Talk about this with family.
Week 3: Arrange an emergency contact person. As mentioned in Week 1, emergency contacts can be listed on your cell phone under the acronym ICE, If you use a landline at home, have an easily readable list of emergency numbers by each phone, or programme the phone with those #'s. Family members without a cell phone should have a list of emergency contact numbers in their wallet or backpack.
In a large-scale emergency you will need to have a contact person outside of this province. An extended family member or a friend willing to receive and relay information will be extraordinarily important. Arrange this as soon as you can.
Your ESS Team, hoping you are well and safe at this time,
Mary F, Petra A, Eleanor V, Gurk S and Virginia L
