Cemetery Restoration Work Day at St. Margaret’s

On November 9th, St. Margaret's Cemetery Committee will be holding a work party in parts of the old cemetery. This will include planting Gary Oak and other trees as part of the waterfront bank restoration.

We are looking for willing hands to help with the planting. Work will start at 10am and, depending on turnout, shouldn't take too long.

Any help is greatly appreciated as many hands make light work.

We will have some tools, but if you can bring digging tools such as pickaxes and shovels, they are sure to come in handy.

We are thankful to the donation of trees by Ann Chin that makes this project possible.

Ride Needed to Victoria this Week

Ben is completing his time as a student/intern farmer after being with us for the last 4 months. Sadly, it's time for him to head back to Denmark.

Is anyone going to Victoria Wed-Fri this week who could offer him a lift?

You can email info@jollityfarm.ca or text/call 250.415.0101

Thanks in advance!

Soup’s On: Wednesday, November 5th

11:30 am until 1:00 pm

Gather at Forbes Hall for a very Thetis Island lunch...

Menu:

Chicken Noodle Soup

Vegetable Noodle Soup

Cheesy Biscuits

Assorted Treats

Coffee & Teas

Suggested donation of $7 for soup, bread, treats and teas & coffee.

Soup’s On is entirely carried out by volunteers and, as one of the tasks is the program’s accounting, please do not pay with coins smaller than Loonies and Toonies.  All change must be counted and rolled, and it’s work that we would like to do less of.

For those who find large groups challenging, enjoy your lunch in this week’s designated quiet room, the Boardroom.

Everyone is welcome to join us, seniors, seniors who don’t think they’re seniors, workers, families, and everyone who just wants a mid-day meal!

Menu remainders for take-out when available. Soup’s On also supports the Thetis Island Food Pantry.

Coupon Booklets of 10 for your convenience, $70.00

Farewell: Bea Michie

It is with deep heartfelt sadness that we share the passing of our beautiful matriarch, Beatrice Ruby Michie.

Bea’s sun rose January 12, 1925 in Botha, Alberta
Bea’s sun set October 19, 2025 in Chemainus, B.C.

Mom loved Thetis Island and the island folk.
She made many dear friends here over the years.
A beautiful, long life well lived.

We will miss her forever...
