Jollity Farm: Organic Blueberry Orders

Every year we place a large bulk order for organic blueberries from our friends in North Saanich. Their 2020 order window opens in a few days and they are typically sold out in 48 hrs! We are gathering order requests for July to mid August.

Berries are packed in 10 lb boxes.

This year there is a new category for larger community orders over 400 lbs with a slightly reduced price.

If we gather an order over 200 lbs, the price per pound will be: $5.75/lb or $57.50/10 lb box

Baby Birds

It is that time of year again! Baby birds....fledglings, trying to make their way in the world.

This morning on our walk we saw a number of little fledglings hopping on the road, and unfortunately observed some who did not make it.

Please help them survive by keeping cats indoors as much as possible, walking dogs on a leash or at least well supervised, and driving carefully.

Thetis Island Improvement District 2019 Financial Statements Posted

Further to our eSPOKES notice at the end of March whereby the Thetis Island Improvement District was directed to cancel our AGM and postpone the elections of trustees, the Board of Trustees met on April 25th to approve the Consolidated Financial Statements for the year ending December 31st, 2019. The entire audit package is now up on the TIID site at: http://www.thetisislandfire.ca/tiid-financial.html

Highlights of the from the audit are:

A surplus of $3,143 from Maintenance, Operations and Administration

A surplus of $45,339 from Capital Projects

The Capital Works (savings) Account increased by $59,277 to $222,861

The fire hall renovation came in $813,817

All of us at the Fire Department and the Improvement District look forward to the time when we can safely hold our 2019 AGM. At that time we will be happy to answer your questions, or provide more detail. If, however, you would like an immediate answer to a particular question, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
