August 11th ~ meet at Pilkey Point at 9:00AM

Can't see yourself paddling the whole way across Trincomali?  Those in engine powered boats are allowed to join in, just remember to be fully respectful and aware of paddlers.  Also, remember that Saturday is going to be an extreme low tide.

See you Saturday morning!

from the Library ~

Wow!  What a successful Book and Bake Sale this year! The total money raised for the library is $2201.00.  That is a record.

$935 from the baking and $1266 from the books.  That is a lot of yummy donated baking and a lot of $1 books.

The bake sale was expertly organized and run by Gloria and Helen.

The book sale volunteers were Jonathan and Virginia, Anne Barr, Myla and Steve, Liz and Dave Forseth, Jan Phelps, Paul and Ann McMillen, Heather Ney, Liz Kroeker, Carolyn Askew, Bev Greene, Lynne Smith, Teresa Moore and Doug Darling. Thanks volunteers for you continued support for the sale. I couldn't do it without you.

Speaking of volunteer support, I must also thank my roster of weekend librarians for opening the library on Saturdays and Sundays through the year.  Myla was the scheduling guru.  She will be missed.  Laurel March is the new volunteer scheduler.  Where would the island be without volunteers?

Please continue to enjoy our island library.  As always, you are invited to request an item you think would be enjoyed by other islanders.

Phone Books ~ Pick Up Needed

The phone books are scheduled to be ready for pick-up from Island Blue on Fort Street in Victoria, sometime Wednesday afternoon, the 8th (today).  Is there anyone who will be in that vicinity sometime in the latter part of this week, who would be able to pick them up? There will be probably 6 cartons, roughly 9 by 12 by 14 inches, if memory serves.

If you can manage this, please let me know.  Thanks!
