With several of our trusty board members away, and with our program coordinator on maternity leave, this summer we will be offering a lighter version of our Nature House Program. Occasional events such as beach walks and the sea star count, activities at the People’s Apothecary Garden, and a special guest talk or two are in the works.
These events will be advertised by eSPOKES and/or posters, a week or two before they happen. In other words, we won’t be publishing a full calendar of summer activities this year or offering Friends of the Nature House memberships (Important note: ThINC Annual Memberships are still available).
If you have an interest in sharing your own nature or food security knowledge and skills with the community, we’d be happy to help you organize an event. Simply contact us at info@thetisislandnatureconservancy.org .
Furthermore, we will be continuing our community science programs for western screech owls, bats, purple martins, sharp-tailed snakes and our brand new invasive green crab monitoring program. New volunteers are always welcome to participate. And the Fairyslipper Forest Nature Reserve trail is always there for you and your visitors to enjoy.
With thanks,
The ThINC Team
