Last Chance to Purchase a WASP Wildfire Protection Kit and Save

Thank you all who stopped by the TIVFD Firefighters Society table at Community Day on Saturday. There was a sign-up list for the WASP Wildfire Protection Kits (2 sprinkler heads, 2 hoses, 2 mounting brackets) for $200., thus helping fundraise for the fire department and saving over $50 from the retail price.

If there is anyone who didn’t get the opportunity to sign up for our bulk order and wishes to purchase the kit, please contact Graeme immediately (graemeshelford@gmail.com) so that we can get the order in by Wednesday morning.

Goosey Gander Shop

The Goosey Gander Shop consignment store is set to open starting on July 8th and 9th at 73 Pilkey Point Road in the old Pot of Gold building. Hours will be 10am to 4pm.
I hope it works out as a fun way to find useful items and to sell the ones you don’t need anymore.

There will be a leaflet in the mailboxes today or tomorrow with all the details, especially regarding putting goods in the shop, but if you have any further questions just let me know.

Thank you!

Community Day Thank You

I just wanted to send a quick thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Community Day at Forbes Hall. I believe it was a great event.

*Thank you to our community organizations who all came together and provided a wonderful show of what they are all about.

*Thank you to the community for coming out. Our community groups are ultra proud of the work they do and really appreciate the opportunity to share their story with you.

*A special thanks to the TICA Food Service Team who teased us on Friday with the awesome smells of vegetables being prepared for Saturday's meal. Good food at a good price, served with a seamless ease that belies the preparation and work that went into it.

*Thanks to Coastal Community Credit Union for providing financial support to make this a wonderful event. I am hopeful that this is the beginning of a wonderful partnership.

As I took my old friend Dominique Roelants around, I continually introduced people to him with the preface "this is my friend...".  Dominique, who is also the Chair of the Board of Directors for Coastal Community was very impressed by our community and our local endeavours. We are an island built on friendship and community. A pretty awesome place to live.
