Thetis Island Improvement District AGM

The Thetis Island Improvement District will hold its Annual General Meeting on Saturday July 9th at 11 AM at Forbes Hall Community Centre.

This public meeting is to receive the audited financial statements for 2021, to report on the operations of the Thetis Island Volunteer Fire Department, the Improvement District, and whatever other items of business may be raised.

ThINC Post - Searching for a Stinging Nettle Patch!

Hi everyone!

I am hoping to do a workshop centered around the harvesting of stinging nettles as well as a general information session about the uses and benefits of this wondrous, but sometimes painful, plant. I am wondering if anyone in the community would be interested in letting me use their stinging nettle patch for this workshop? ThINC Post - Reminder of Tonight's Doc and Talk!

Join fibre farmer Emily McIvor tonight from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Nature House (Parking at Heneage House) for a short film and a discussion of sustainability in textiles. A short film will introduce us to the Fibreshed movement and will be followed by an overview of ecological impacts of textile production today. Then we will move into a discussion of how we might start to make a change. 

The evening will be fun and informative with an emphasis on imagination and playful curiosity. And most importantly, meet the sheep!

Free Trailer / ISO Lawnmower

It was a 13ft house trailer. The house-works have been removed. Could be converted into a utility trailer. No papers. Good jack and running gear. Located at the bottom of Burns Road across from the highways yard. 

In search of...

A working lawnmower. Electric preferred but gas is OK.

Zodiac / Nissan

8' Zodiac roll-up inflatable/ 2008 Tohatsu (Nissan) 4stroke 6hp. 

I bought the dingy new last October, put it in the water in March. Paid $1400 for it new. Comes with oars and bag, no leaks, holes, or patches, $800.

Motor is an older model, needs a tank (can be seen running as I have a tank here), and in reality, I'm only asking $200 for it as a package deal. Will separate $800 dinghy, $400 motor (no tank). $1000 for the pair.

Fire Hazard Rating

Hello All,

It looks like we will be dropping to MODERATE Hazard for the next few days.  Please continue to be vigilant with your campfires (permit required).  No other open fires are permitted.  And because it is the summer holiday season several  of our dedicated members take time off our rock for  travel etc. We appreciate your extra caution in not allowing a fire to start.
