Post Office Restarting...

The Canada Post strike ends today, Dec 17. Mail delivery should start Wednesday Dec 18. We will be open for regular hours starting Wednesday.

Hours of operation
· Monday to Saturday
· 1000 AM to 0500 PM (closed from 1200 to 1230 for lunch)
· Closed holidays

Services
All regular postal services except bill payments and any type of money transfer. We do not have the resources to offer this service.

Red Drop Box and Post Office Boxes
· Mail is sorted into the Post Office boxes between 0900 and 1000 AM each morning

· If you want your mail to go out on a given day, have it in the red box before 0900 or bring it to the Post Office before 1100 AM

· EXCEPTION: Mail is picked up at 0900 AM on Friday therefore it you wish your mail to go out Friday get it into the Post Office (NOT the red box) before 0500 PM Thursday

Mail and Parcels
According to regulations we are only supposed to keep mail and parcels for 2 weeks then we are to send it back. Obviously, we have not been doing that. If you are going to be away longer than 2 weeks, please let us know length of time so we can hold your mail. Depending on the length of time there could be a fee charged for parcels.

· Please bring parcel tags to facilitate retrieving your parcels

Theoretically there should be no more strike action until May 23/25 the end of the current Labour Board contract. I will keep you informed if anything changes.

Dancing Dragonfly Soapworks

If you missed me at the Christmas Market or just need a last-minute gift I am restocked at Thetis Island Marina for soaps, fun fashion earrings and my new hand felted starfish scent-makers. These feature wool, grown on Thetis Island and hand dyed and felted by Lis Kroeker (pink scooter) accompanied by essential oils to scent your room or car and calm or energize you, depending on scent.

Thank You, from the Winter Concert Organizers

The Winter concert was a tremendous success, the community centre was packed!

A big Thank you to the performers: Ms. Lucchetti and all the elementary students, followed by Anika Elias, Amelia Ensminger, Edie Galbraith, Charlotte Aarberg, Ron Vandergaag, Tony Smith, Penelope Terry, and Simone Luckham.

Special thanks to: Ron and Tony for setting up the sound system and taking down the stage. Elite and Athenia Willowbrook, and Doug Fenton for staying to help clean up and doing the dishes. The generosity of amazing community members makes this concert so special.

Thank you all so much!

Kenmore Electric Range--Good Condition—Works Great

Model 970-686621 (see link below for specifications & photos)

All 4 burners, warmer, and oven/broiler work fine.

SILENT AUCTION—Winning Bid will be Donated to Harvest House Food Bank(winner will also get the tax credit receipt).

Starting bid is $100. If you underbid the current bid or are outbid, we will let you know and you can offer a higher bid if you wish (minimum bid increment is $25).

Bids will be accepted from today (Sunday) until Wednesday, 6pm

Please email your bid and/or any questions to vjvclue@gmail.com

NOTES (and am happy to answer questions):

(1) We are not able to deliver. The range is on the second floor of our house. Jonathan can help get it down the stairs, but more strong bodies will be needed.

(2) The link is NOT our range but is a very similar model. In addition to the specs listed at link, our range has self-cleaning oven (up to 4 hours), cooking timer, clock, oven temperature 170F-550F, low & high broiler settings, warm & hold setting, 2 shelves & 7 shelf positions. Dimensions: Ht 46″/Width 30″/Depth 26”

(3) Our range has some flaws: The oven door handle screws need to be tightened every couple of weeks. We don’t have a manual, but the range is very easy to use.
