Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 9:46AM Below you will find an update to the post office hours of operation:
Since we are now open till 05:30 PM The need for staying open Saturday has become redundant. Workers can get their mail after they come off of the five o'clock ferry. We are staying open until noon Saturday to sort the Friday mail into the PO boxes and give a small window to pick up mail on Saturday morning. If you wish us to stay open longer let us know this week and we will adjust accordingly.
Post office slowdowns.
As far as I know there are going to be continuing intermittent delays. This does not mean parcels won't be delivered it just means a parcel could be late if it gets caught in one of the slow downs.
Post Office Information
Hours of operation
· Monday to Friday
· 1000 AM to 0530 PM (closed from 1200 to 1230 for lunch)
· Saturday
· 1030 AM to 1200
· Closed holidays
· TDG Thursdays: Some TDG Thursdays we may be gone for about 20 minutes around 1100 to get the mail at the ferry to help the deliverer get back on the ferry.
Services
All regular postal services except bill payments and any type of money transfer. We do not have the resources to offer this service.
Red Drop Box and Post Office Boxes
· Mail is sorted into the Post Office boxes between 0900 and 1000 AM each morning
· If you want your mail to go out on a given day have it in the red box before 0900 or bring it down to the Post Office before 1100 AM
· EXCEPTION: Mail is picked up at 0900 AM on Friday therefore it you wish your mail to go out Friday get it into the Post Office (NOT the red box) before 0530 PM Thursday
Mail and Parcels
· According to regulations we are only supposed to keep mail and parcels for 2 weeks, then we are to send it back. Obviously we have not been doing that. If you are going to be away longer than 2 weeks please let us know length of time so we can hold your mail. Depending on the length of time there could be a fee charged for parcels.
· Please bring parcel tags to facilitate retrieving your parcels
If you choose to put your on island letters in the drop box please advise the people you are leaving them for that they are there. If you want the post office to distribute your on island letters put them in the red mailbox. The Post office will NOT be checking the drop box. We take no responsibility for the use of the drop box.
Monday, November 17, 2025 at 7:13AM The Nurse Practitioner’s Clinic will not be open on Tuesday, November 18th. Kari Quinney will still be available, by phone, to book appointments.
Thank you for your understanding.

Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 8:40AM I didn’t post anything at the time (about 2-3 weeks ago) because what happened seemed random BUT given recent posts involving theft, the following may be related ....
My dogs woke me up late evening, and I heard an engine and saw headlights coming up my road. Certainly, weren’t invited and timing did NOT coincide with ferry, so chances of truck driver being lost were LOW.
As soon as I turned on the light and walked out with headlamp, I could hear engine being gunned and vehicle reversing violently. It sounded like a pick-up truck, headlights higher than a car.
Coincidentally, my mom was away at the time...so whoever it was may have thought no one home. But if so, that means they may know enough about the Island to think I was at work also....
I didn’t post then as I couldn't identify, but now just another reason to keep our eyes open.
