Christmas Bazaar

We tried but Covid 19 has made having a Christmas Bazaar just too iffy. So we have decided to cancel The Christmas Bazaar. 

Some of the vendors are willing to sell so check out either espokes or facebook for information about who will be selling from their homes. 

Let's hope that Covid 19 ends soon. But until then be safe.

Vehicles in Fairview Road

Would drivers using the road please take care, last Saturday I went out and was nearly thrown off my scooter due to the gravel and soil being gouged up. Also, the turning space has been churned up the same and they had taken the corner coming down and left their marks where it had gone off the road nearly into the ditch.  

Tonight, a vehicle came down twice and parked across my driveway entrance on both occasions. 

Please drivers drive slowly so you don’t make a mess of the road.  

I do not drive a car or a truck, I have a mobility scooter

Deck the Hall: Fa La La La La La La La La !

To bring some joy to all the TIVFD Volunteers, all those who head out on the Trails via the end of Mission Road, and to all of those who just want to see a bit of cheerful Holiday decorating, a small team is being assembled to decorate the Entry to the Fire Hall, with the TIID & TIVFD’s blessing ☺

We hope to find 5 households (due to COVID protocols this seems like the best way to accomplish this effort) who will be willing to take on one aspect of the plan.  There is lots of opportunity for creativity.  Some jobs are small, some take more hands… 

If your household would like to participate, please contact me, and we can sort out which part of the plan works best for you.  

The idea is to have the whole of this accomplished between December 1 & 12.

To the dear soul that hangs Christmas Balls at the end of driveways at the end of Pilkey Rd. 

In our home, you are called the Jingle Bell Angel. There has been much discussion with my daughter as to who you are and if you have wings. But the biggest question my daughter Athenia has for you is this...  "Why do you not hang your pretty balls at the end of our driveway?"  

Athenia has suggested that I email espokes and give you our address. Perhaps then you will be able to find us. We live at 186 Porlier Rd. She will be checking every day to see if her message has reached you...If on the off chance you know who the Jingle Ball angel is and they don't have email...please let them know about Athenia's message.

Responder Safety

Your TIVFD is taking every precaution during the upswing in the pandemic to keep you and our responders safe and healthy.  We are still training virtually or in small, safe groups.  Equipment is being serviced and maintained.  

We will respond to your emergency needs. 

We ask that you have patience if we are blocking the road at the head of the community dock while we wait for the water taxi and that you follow the direction of our traffic control fire fighters.  

We ask for your patience if you need us for a medical response and we must ask a series of questions before we enter your house.  

We ask that everyone in your household puts on a mask when we arrive.
