Cal 28 Sailboat for Sale

Hi there!  I have made the decision to part with my sailboat.  I never have the time and boating is just not for me right now.  It’s in great shape and has new batteries, transom ladder and a mariner 4 zodiac which I bought this summer has never been used.  I’ve fixed it up since May and it’s sail and motor ready.  Propane double burners to cook.  Stereo system CD player on board.  Sleeps 5 and is ready for live aboard. Asking $6000 OBO.  Email me if you’d like to have a look at it. It is moored on Thetis and you could take over that moorage.  Serious offers only.  I want this to go to to the right people and home.  Here is the full listing and pics.  Thanks!

Current Covid-19 protocols for less than 50 attendees:
- masks required
- proof of vaccination not required
- please do NOT attend if you are feeling ill

Feedback at the last TIRRA meeting in June was that it was difficult for some to hear.

Scottish Country Dancing

Once more we are trying to get a group of people together to start dancing. We are looking at the possibility of meeting every Monday evening at 4pm in Forbes Hall commencing on November 22nd.

We are a very informal group anxious to have some new dancers join us.  Beginners are more than welcome, and we can help you get started. You don't need to bring a partner although we will be delighted if you do, just wear comfortable light clothing and soft shoes with good support.
All attendees must be fully vaccinated, and masks are mandatory when entering the hall but may be taken off during activities.

If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please give Shirley a call at 250-246-1816 or email burrleyshir@gmail.com

Successful Vaccination Clinic

Thank you for your patience at the Tuesday Flu Shot Clinic.  Approximately 175 Influenza vaccinations and 25 covid vaccinations were given by VIHA nurses Joanne and Julie.  Thanks also to Michelle for manning the intake table with Norm, and our TIVFD Auxiliary members Merry, Veronica and Nan and the Thetis Island Community Fund for the refreshments.

Grant was on standby in the First Aid room but had no customers.  Most of our firefighters had started the day on a 4 a.m. emergency call-out, so I am especially appreciative of their commitment to this important community service.

We will be pushing hard for a covid booster shot clinic in December, and both of the nurses are keen to return to our island, so Veronica and I will keep you posted.
